Walter Hill “Trey” Levie III has joined McKeon Meunier Carlin & Curfman, LLC as an associate attorney focused on litigation, patent prosecution and trademark prosecution matters.

Levie graduated magna cum laude from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in May 2011, ranking third in his class. He was on the Dean’s List every semester while at Cumberland School of Law and received the Scholar of Merit award for nine law classes for having the highest grade in the class. He received the Dean’s Merit Scholarship during the period of Fall 2009 through Spring 2011 and the Spirit of Service Award in 2010 and 2011. He served as Managing Editor of The Cumberland Law Review from 2010-2011 and was Junior Editor during 2009-2010. His peers selected him as Outstanding Senior Member, 2010-2011.

Also while at Cumberland School of Law, Levie was the Vice Justice and an active member of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity; served as a Judge Abraham Caruthers Fellow in the Lawyering & Legal Reasoning Program in 2010-2011; won the James O. Haley Federal Trial Advocacy Competition in Summer 2010; and served as a student judge for the Robert B. Donworth Moot Court Competition.

While studying at Vanderbilt University School of Engineering, where he received a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering, Levie was on the Engineering Dean’s List every semester. He was selected by the faculty for the Dan Barge/ASCE Civil Engineering Award, was a member of both the Tau Beta Pi National Engineering Honor Society and Chi Epsilon National Civil Engineering Honor Society, served as the President of the Vanderbilt American Society of Civil Engineers, and held the position of the Advisor Chair on the Executive Board of the Vanderbilt Honor Council. Most recently, Mr. Levie was employed by King & Spalding LLP.  Prior to his employment at the Atlanta office of King & Spalding LLP, he was a law intern for Judge Karon O. Bowdre, United States District Court for the Northern District of Alabama. 

In addition to his school and work activities, Mr. Levie has volunteered at the Birmingham HELP Clinics, where he assisted in drafting wills and powers of attorney and in counseling individuals regarding domestic relations and divorce proceedings. He also served as a volunteer tax preparer for low-income, working families during the 2009-2011 tax seasons.
