Alexis N. Simpson has joined McKeon Meunier Carlin & Curfman, LLC as an associate attorney focused on domestic and foreign patent prosecution in the chemical, pharmaceutical and semiconductor fields. She will assist in intellectual property litigation and opinion work.

Simpson joins the firm from Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner, LLP. She graduated magna cum laude from Georgia State University College of Law.

While at Georgia State College of Law, Simpson was the Law Review Editor and Board Member; a member of the Moot Court Board and National Finalist in the Giles S. Rich Moot Court Competition; received the CALI Award for the highest grade in nine classes and was a Litigation Honors Recipient. Additionally she received the ALI/ABA Award for Scholarship and Leadership, was an Outer Barristers Guild Award Winner, a recipient of the Intellectual Property Law Scholarship, and was elected Vice President of the Intellectual Property Law Society.

She has a B.S. degree in chemical and biomolecular engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. While earning her undergraduate degree, Simpson worked on a senior design team for Intel® designing a Silicon Wafer Regeneration facility with a fully equipped ultra-pure water system and cleanroom. She was awarded 2nd place for Engineering Excellence by Intel for the design, and was voted most contributing team member twice in a row by her peers.

Simpson is an associate of the Atlanta IP American Inn of Court and has been a pupil at the Logan E. Bleckley Inn of Court. She does pro bono work for various organizations in the metro Atlanta area, including educational neglect cases for the Truancy Intervention Project of Georgia and court-annexed mediation for landlord-tenant disputes in the Fulton County Municipal Court.

Simpson is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association (Young Lawyers Division), Intellectual Property Law Society, American Bar Association, American Chemical Society and the American Institute of Chemical Engineers.
