MCC Hires Three

March 18, 2019

Meunier Carlin & Curfman LLC (“MCC”) has hired three new professionals to bolster its growing intellectual property practice. The three most recent hires expand the firm’s footprint in biotechnology, mechanical engineering, medical devices and intellectual property litigation.

“It is delightful to see a strong demand for MCC’s intellectual property services,” said firm managing partner, Chris Curfman. “We have hired numerous attorneys and agents to our practice in just the last year, thus expanding our offerings to our clients.”

Robert Leonard joined the firm as an associate after practicing intellectual property litigation at an Atlanta area firm. Mr. Leonard’s litigation practice focuses on patent infringement and related high-stakes, complex litigation. He has represented clients in courts throughout the country in technologies including fiber optic sensor systems, heart rate monitors, and wireless and wired communications technology. He is a graduate of Emory University’s School of Law.

Matthew Burton is a former engineer with Pratt & Whitney, and previously practiced patent law at a private firm in the Northeast. Mr. Burton’s background in mechanical engineering enables him to provide guidance for clients for their mechanical and medical device patents. He is a graduate of the University of Connecticut’s School of Law.

Yan Feng recently received her PhD in immunology and molecular pathogenesis from Emory University. Her previous research experience focused on vaccine trials, diagnostics markers for cancer and infectious diseases, and exploring the mechanism that regulates immune response during infection. She interned at Emory University’s Office of Technology Transfer, where she analyzed patent publications.
