Eric focuses his practice on U.S. and international patent drafting and prosecution, patentability and freedom to operate analysis, and due diligence. His expertise is within organic chemistry, polymer chemistry, medicinal chemistry, material science, synthetic processing and organic electronics.
While in graduate school, Eric studied the total synthesis of indole alkaloid natural products that showed potential as novel antimalarial agents. Eric was the recipient of the George W. Woodruff Fellowship from the Laney Graduate School while at Emory University. Also while completing his thesis research at Emory, Eric participated in the National Institutes of Health's Broadening Experiences in Scientific Training (BEST) Program, designed to provide PhD students with exposure and preparation for various career paths outside of academia.
Eric previously served as an intern with Emory University's Office of Technology Transfer, where he gained experience with both the office's licensing and patent groups.
